I have just come back from visiting beautiful, funky Portland, Oregon, where my parents and brother own and run an Organic Vegetarian Late Night International Café – Kalga Kafe.  It has the essence of that which I grew up with living in the US as a first generation Indian (from India).

The love of nourishing others through warmth and food has become my entire family’s profession. So if you ever go to Portland check out Kalga Kafe and try the pizza. At the restaurant my brother serves Tao of Tea pure leaf tea. A beautiful thing that is available at World Market nationally. We just had dinner last week with Veerinder, the creative owner, who is a corporate man gone green.  He also has the love of hospitality and has perfected that in his teahouses.
